Sermon Excerpt(s)
Names have impact on the lives they are named.
Jabez called upon the name of the Lord and was saved. Acts 2:21 (MSG) – And whoever calls out for help to me, God, will be saved.”
The only thing we have is that one name, and God came to his rescue. No man in greater than his prayer life. That is why Jesus always starts and ends with prayer.
When men of prayers stop praying, the church will go down – 1 Samuel 13:19
Peter cried the name of Jesus and Jesus saved him.
Matthew 14:30 (MSG) – But when he looked down at the waves churning beneath his feet, he lost his nerve and started to sink. He cried, “Master, save me!”
The blessing of God surpasses what the human mind can understand
Psalm 1:3 (NIV) – That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.
Ezekiel 34:26 (NIV) – I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.
Jabez’s third prayer was for the lord to help him and so did He do
1 Chronicles 4:10 (NIV) – Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
When we shout HELP ME LORD, He sends down help – 2 Kings 6:25-27
Psalm 121:2 (NIV) – My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

But for the showers we plead.
